photo stories: Semi-automatic shooting modes (part two)

In addition to the main automatic shooting modes, digital photo cameras also feature a number of semi-automatic modes. These are usually Program (P), Shutter priority (S) and Aperture priority (A). P: This mode usually behaves in a similar way to the full Auto mode. Generally, this mode will allow you to change ISO setting, and aperture/shutter combination. If you want to freeze action (similar to automatic shooting mode called Sports/Action), or to create a narrow depth of field and throw the background out of focus (similar to automatic shooting mode called Portrait), you should select faster shutter speed and the camera will automatically increase the size of aperture (select a smaller number). If you want to ensure that as much of the scene as possible is in focus (similar to automatic shooting mode called Landscape), select a higher number for aperture in order to reduce size of the aperture. The camera will select automatically a slower shutter speed.
